Cover

What we stand behind

90 days on labor. 365 days on parts. Genuine OEM parts only. Written on the invoice, not buried in a clause.

The terms

What does the cover actually run to?

Labor

90 days

From the invoice date. If the fault we repaired comes back inside the term, the return visit is ours.

Parts

365 days

Genuine OEM parts only. A full year on anything we fit, and the labor to swap it if it fails.

Before that

$80

Flat $80 diagnostic. It is credited toward the repair if you approve the work. You get a written estimate before any part is ordered or any tool comes out.

The line either side

Covered, and not covered

Covered

  • The specific fault we diagnosed and repaired, for the full term.
  • The part we fitted, for a year, including the labor to fit its replacement.
  • A repeat of the same symptom from the same cause, at no further charge.
  • Workmanship: anything we disturbed getting to the fault and putting it back.

Not covered

  • A different fault in the same appliance. It is a new diagnosis and a new call.
  • Damage from misuse, an overloaded circuit, or an unrelated failure in the house.
  • A part supplied by somebody else, or a repair somebody else attempted first.
  • Consumables and finishes: filters, bulbs, gaskets worn by normal use, cosmetic marks.

How to claim

Three steps, no forms

  1. Call the shop and read us the invoice number. It carries the model number and the part we fitted, so we already know what went in.
  2. Describe what it is doing now. If it is the same symptom as before, the visit is booked as a warranty return and there is no diagnostic fee.
  3. If it turns out to be a different fault, we tell you that on site before any tool comes out, and you decide whether to go ahead at the normal terms.

The rest of the terms of work are on the pricing page, and the common questions are answered on the questions page.

Before the cover starts

What does the repair itself cost?

The visit and the whole diagnostic sequence are $80 flat, and that comes off the bill the moment you approve the work. The work below has run $200–$970 in parts and labor after that, and the figure on your estimate is written down before a part is ordered.

Typical repair bands, Viking equipment, parts and labor together.
Work Parts and labor
$80 diagnostic Flat, credited toward the repair
Igniter or burner assembly $200–$530
Oven thermostat or heating element $200–$570
Control board or touch panel $410–$970
Refrigeration fan or defrost system $240–$650

A band is where the work has landed, not a quote. You get a written estimate before any part is ordered or any tool comes out. 90 days on labor, 365 days on parts. The whole table is on the pricing page.

Asked on the phone

What do people ask about the cover?

How long is the repair covered?
90 days on labor and 365 days on parts from the invoice date. Genuine OEM parts only. If the fault we repaired comes back inside the term, the return visit is ours and there is no second diagnostic fee. A different fault in the same appliance is a new diagnosis and we tell you that on site.
What does the repair this cover applies to cost?
$80 flat to come out and find the fault, and that comes off the bill the moment you approve the repair. Past that the job lands in a band: igniter or burner assembly $200–$530, oven thermostat or heating element $200–$570. You get a written estimate before any part is ordered or any tool comes out. Every repair carries 90 days on labor and 365 days on parts.
Do you work on anything other than Viking?
No. Viking Range, LLC builds kitchen appliances — ranges, rangetops, wall ovens, built-in refrigeration, ventilation hoods and dishwashers — and that equipment is the whole of what this shop takes in. One make means the parts on the van, the manuals and the failure patterns are the ones we see every week. We are an independent repair shop.

What customers said

After the work was done

4.3 out of 5, across 77 published customer reviews. Read every one of them.

  • It kept running and never reached temperature. The diagnosis was a leak in the sealed system, and he told me straight that the repair was worth weighing against the age of the unit instead of just booking it.

    Corey B.

  • The simmer setting on the large burner had turned into a hard boil with nothing in between. He rebuilt the valve, set the low flame himself, then had me work the knob in front of him before he wrote it up.

    Roland F.

  • The oven under the rangetop ran cold by a wide margin. He measured the sensor resistance cold and again hot, showed me both numbers, and changed it. Baking times went back to what the recipes actually say.
